In February 2010 – probably between the 10th and 15th of the month, the exact date is

unfortunately no longer known – we founded Nomaquito, at that time still as a sole
proprietorship. In these early days, our focus was on the realization of an innovative product: our tropical sleeping bag.
Nomaquito Mosquito Jacket
The biggest challenge was finding reliable suppliers who were willing to work with a newcomer like us. Procuring the special LLI mosquito nets was particularly difficult. But we were able to overcome this milestone in June 2010: the first two tropical sleeping bags were successfully sold to our first customers.
In the years that followed, we established ourselves as a provider of high-quality outdoor products. In addition to tropical sleeping bags, we expanded our range to include hut sleeping bags, mosquito jackets, sarongs and capes. We offer these products not only in our own online shop, but also via Amazon, a few selected retailers and soon also at Temu.
In the summer of 2018, another important step in our company’s history took place: we converted the sole proprietorship into a limited liability company (UG). Since mid-2024, we have had our products manufactured in the People’s Republic of China. This decision was not easy for us, but it was necessary because manufacturing in Europe was increasingly characterized by unreliability, company closures and rising costs – both factors that threatened the future of our company.
Today, 15 years after our founding, we look back on our journey with some pride. We would like to thank all our customers, partners and supporters who have accompanied us on this journey. Here’s to many more successful years!
